AWS Systems Engineer - South London

£45,000 - £65,000

My Enterprise technology driven client are on a very exciting digital transformation journey, which includes the re-platforming all of their existing legacy technology systems. To do this they have tasked me with finder super skilled Systems Engineer's to join their workforce in 2021. The projects will be delivered using SAfE adopting a completely serverless micro-services architecture on AWS so it's very future focused approach.

Upon joining this team you will work as part of a Scrum team to build and maintain your own platform/product, delivering tangible results on a fortnightly basis and you will be working with AWS to support your scrum team with continuous delivery, build automation and infrastructure as code.

This is a genuinely a fantastic opportunity to learn and work with cutting edge technologies in AWS (Amazon Connect, QLDB, SameMaker etc) that are part of a production platform in a business that aims to be their go to service in the next 3 years. 80% of the AWS services are used in house so something to really get your teeth into.

What will you be doing?

  • Systems engineering responsibilities (building, maintaining and optimising the AWS services/infrastructure of the product platform for the scrum team).

  • Providing Agile system engineering expertise (DevOps, Serverless Infrastructure, Networking & Routing, Security, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Continuous Integration, Distributed Systems, Big Data, Machine Lerarning).

  • Building and maintaining key AWS services within your platform (eg. Cloud Formation, API Gateway, S3, ElasticSearch, etc).

  • Working with CI/CD Pipelines using AWS Code Pipeline, Code Deploy, Lambda, Fargate, Docker and Infrastructure as a Code.

  • Integrating code quality and security tools in code pipelines to improve and identify security issues.

  • Carrying out system reviews to ensure accordance with architectural principles set out by and agreed within the team.

  • Hands-on experience with Bitbucket, GitHub, Jira and Confluence.

  • Scripting experience (JSON & YAML) and familiarity with standard code libraries.
