Our team is building a brand-new AWS Software Development Life Cycle (ADLC) product that will enable customers to continuously increase the speed, frequency and reliability of their development processes and software deployments. Our builders are the technical design leaders on the founding team of a new AWS product. The ability to deep dive ambiguous problems while inventing and simplifying a solution will be key to your success in this role. Key job responsibilities Influence product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution Build experience designing large-scale systems with a focus on horizontal scaling, high throughput and massive, rapidly growing data sets Solve complex software problems using design and problem-solving skills Have an in-depth understanding in SDLC areas like IDE's, source code management, CICD and compliance solutions Be knowledgeable in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, graph databases and workflow engines Love collaborating with senior leaders to design and build a large-scale AWS product from scratch A day in the life On this team you will Work with developers as your core customers You will design and build the architecture, identify and investigate new technologies, prototype solutions, and test and review changes, to deliver an exceptional customer experience Use core AWS technologies to design and build scalable web services and customer-facing APIs Develop software that enables customers to be productive building their own software Collaborate and work alongside a passionate group of software engineers and product folks who love making the tooling we each wish we had About the team Work-Life Balance Our team also puts a high value on work-life balance. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Programming experience with at least one software programming language. 1+ years of experience in software development Programming experience with at least one software programming language. 1+ years of experience in software development Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ years relevant work experience 1+ year experience with one modern programming language such as Java, Ruby, C++, or Perl Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design Computer Science fundamentals in data structures Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis First-hand working knowledge of webservice design and development best practices PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers Knowledge of professional software engineering practices best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, and the ability to clearly describe software product features and technical designs Experience with and a fundamental understanding of one or more source control systems Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
